Dashboard Functional User Manual

Introduction

The incentX Dashboard is your real-time command center for incentive performance. After logging in, it's the first screen you see — a configurable view of key metrics including total sales, commission activity, and outstanding tasks, all in one place without navigating through individual modules.

Example: A sales manager opens incentX on Monday morning and immediately sees their team's total sales for the current month, a breakdown by rep, and a reminder to approve three pending commission adjustments — all from the Dashboard, without running a single report.


How It Works

The Dashboard is built around configurable tiles. Each tile is an independent data widget (e.g., Total Sales, Commission Summary, Task List) that you can enable, disable, and configure individually. Key behaviors to know:

  • You can display up to 8 tiles at a time.
  • Each tile has its own date range and data source settings, configured independently of other tiles.
  • The Sales Graph tile provides a month-by-month visual breakdown of sales activity.
  • The Task tile lets you create and manage action items without leaving the Dashboard.

Accessing the Dashboard

Click the Dashboard icon or module in the left-hand navigation menu after logging in to incentX.


Customize Dashboard Tiles

Tiles are the individual data widgets that make up your Dashboard. Select which tiles appear and arrange them to match your workflow.

  1. Click the Tiles icon at the top of the Dashboard to open the tile selection panel.

  2. Check the boxes for each tile you want to display. You can select a maximum of 8 tiles.

  3. Your selections are applied immediately — the Dashboard updates in real time.

Note: If you attempt to select more than 8 tiles, additional selections are blocked until you deselect an existing tile.


Set a Date Range

Control the time period reflected in your Dashboard tiles using the date range controls. Each tile can be scoped to a different period.

  1. Click the Date icon on the tile or Dashboard header to open the date options panel.

  2. Select a predefined range (e.g., This Month, Last Quarter) or choose Custom Range to enter a start and end date manually.

  3. Click Confirm to apply. All tiles and graphs update to reflect the selected range.

To scope individual tiles to different time periods, use the Show Data From dropdown within each tile's settings.


Configure Individual Tile Settings

Each tile supports its own configuration options — filter by incentive type, contract, sales rep, and more — so you can tailor exactly what data each tile displays.

  1. Click the Settings (gear) icon on the tile you want to configure.

  2. Adjust the available options: data source, filters, and display type.

  3. Changes apply to that tile only and are saved automatically.


View Sales Graph Values

The Sales Graph tile provides a month-by-month visual breakdown of sales activity, making it easy to spot trends and compare performance across periods.

  • Hover over any bar or data point on the Sales Graph to see the exact sales figure for that month.
  • The graph refreshes automatically when you change the Dashboard date range.

Add a New Task

The Task tile lets you create and track action items directly from the Dashboard without navigating to a separate module.

  1. Click Add New within the Task tile to open the task creation form.

  2. Fill in the required fields: task name, due date, assigned user, and any relevant notes.

  3. Click Save. The task appears immediately in the Task tile.


Troubleshooting

  • Tiles not showing data: Verify that the date range is set correctly and that the underlying data (e.g., invoices, contracts) exists for the selected period.
  • Cannot select more than 8 tiles: Deselect an existing tile before enabling a new one.
  • Graph not updating after date change: Click Confirm after selecting your date range to apply the update.
